I’m really struggling with Paper 3, Quantitative Aptitude, specifically navigating the negative marking scheme. While I’ve diligently covered the ICAI study material for Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Statistics, my accuracy under exam conditions is inconsistent. When I attempt mock tests, I often find myself in a dilemma: either I attempt fewer questions out of fear of losing marks to incorrect answers, or I try to push for more attempts and end up making calculated guesses that sometimes backfire, eating into my total score.

What strategies have you found effective for Paper 3, especially when encountering questions where you’re not entirely confident but can eliminate one or two options? Is there an ‘ideal’ number of attempts to target, or a more systematic approach to decide which questions to skip versus which to take a calculated risk on, given the penalty for wrong answers? I’m preparing for my upcoming CA Foundation attempt and this is a significant bottleneck for me.
