I’m preparing for CA Final May 2026 and currently in my second year of articleship at a mid-sized firm. My core area is Internal Audit, which involves significant outstation travel, often for weeks at a stretch to various client locations. This has become a major challenge for maintaining a consistent study schedule, especially for a demanding subject like Financial Reporting (FR).

When I’m travelling, the hotel environment isn’t conducive for focused study, and carrying all reference books (ICAI module, a main textbook, practice manuals) is practically impossible. I find it extremely difficult to dedicate the 3-4 hours daily that FR specifically requires for conceptual understanding and problem-solving, especially with the intricate Ind AS applications. How do others manage their studies, particularly for conceptual subjects, when their articleship involves such extensive travel and unpredictable hours? Should I focus on theory subjects during travel and numericals when I’m back in town? Also, what’s the best strategy for planning articleship leave when your work schedule is so dynamic?
